Lieven Dermaut: LET YOURSELF GO!

The exhibition was designed for the art festival 48 Stunden Neukölln from 27. to 29. June 2014 according to it's subject "Courage". Furthermore it was displayed until 25. July 2014.

Lieven Dermaut shows an astonishing collection of scenes, drawn with feathers of birds in indian ink coloured with aquarelle. His delicate works, rich in detail, depict the courage to self-creation and what keeps us away from it.

LET YOURSELF GO!

PRISONER WITHOUT A JAIL

"Where's your courage to break out? You live like a prisoner without a jail. The bars of your selfmade invisible prison are stronger than the hardest steel. Some are made out of shame, or greed. Most of them are forged by the deeply hidden and indestructible fear that you may be infinitly powerfull."

LAMB AMONGST WOLVES

"What is it that you're afraid of? Why live like a lamb amongst wolves? Is your world that dangerous place you think it is? Do you feel like an innocent lamb that has to be vigilant all the time?"

LET YOURSELF GO!

"Gather all your courage, pull the cord and let yourself go! Get yourself catapulted into the reality of self-creation. Welcome!"
